Under this game’s standard rules, a straight flush beats a five-card bomb but loses to a six-card bomb. The four-joker bomb beats everything. Compare combination type and size first; compare rank only when the relevant types and sizes match.
What is the bomb ranking from lowest to highest?
- Four cards of one rank.
- Five cards of one rank.
- A five-card straight flush.
- Six, seven, eight, nine and ten cards of one rank, in that order.
- Both small jokers and both big jokers together: the four-joker bomb.
Nine- and ten-card same-rank bombs require wild cards, because two decks contain only eight natural cards of each ordinary rank. Wild cards cannot replace jokers.
Can five low cards beat four aces?
Yes. Five 3s beat four aces because the same-rank bomb has more cards. Six 3s likewise beat five kings. The high rank of an ace or king does not overcome that size difference.
For equal-sized bombs, compare ranks. In this game’s standard rules, the current level rank is elevated in bombs too. At level 7, four 7s beat four aces, but four 7s still lose to any five-card bomb.
How do two straight flushes compare?
A straight flush contains exactly five consecutive cards of one suit. Compare their sequences, not their suits: a natural 6–10 straight flush beats a 5–9 straight flush. Equal sequences cannot beat each other.
Our standard table allows A–2–3–4–5 as the lowest sequence and 10–J–Q–K–A as the highest. A sequence cannot wrap around: Q–K–A–2–3 is invalid. Within sequences, the level card keeps its natural position. At level 7, a 3–7 straight flush does not suddenly become the highest straight flush.
When is using a bomb worthwhile?
Plan the next lead before spending it. If an opponent has one card left and your bomb lets you lead a pair, you have a more useful plan than simply returning to singles. Other players may still take control, so this is a tactical consideration, not a guaranteed finish.
If your partner currently leads with a strong combination, taking that lead away may waste two control cards. A bomb should help stop an opponent, protect your partner or enable your own remaining combinations.
Why does my local club use another order?
Some tables place straight flushes differently or do not elevate level-card bombs. Agree on those details before a cross-region game. This guide describes the product’s standard table rather than claiming every local version is identical.
